OpenGL streaming causes GPU to crash (Error Code 7)
http://hetsu.co.uk/i/2014/01/ss-22-19_31PM-0198.png

This happens every time I try to stream a 3D application that uses OpenGL for rendering, I don't know if it's due to my cards limitations or if it's just a bug at the moment. The apps I tried to stream were Second Life (non-steam app) and Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

This has never happened before and I've only encountered it during in-home streaming.

More details here: http://hetsu.co.uk/i/2014/01/ss-22-19_42PM-0199.png

Here's my details as per-usual:

Host:
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit
CPU: Intel i5 760 2.80 GHz
RAM: 12.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665 MHz
Motherboard: Foxconn H55M-S
Graphics: nVidia GeForce GTX 650 (EVGA) 1920x1080
Router: BTHub 3
Linkup: a very very long LAN cable going to the living room.

Client:
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 32-bit
CPU: Intel Pentium T4400 2.20GHz
RAM: 3.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 399MHz
Motherboard: OEGStone C4100/C5100
Graphics: Mobile Intel 4 Express Chipset Family 1920x1080
Router: BTHub 3
Linkup: WiFi

Edit: Forgot to add, my nvidia drivers are up to date, I also have the host machine running nVidia surround, although I still get the same outcome even with surround disabled.

Same problem here, have you somehow succeeded at fixing it?

Valve sent me a support email asking for further details after I posted this thread, probably for diagnosis. I haven't resolved the issue yet but I'd imagine from what I've sent back, they're working resolving the issue.

I have the same problem as well. Windows 8.1 with an Nvidia 670MX for the server and Arch Linux with an Intel HD4600 for the client.

Can you report this on the geforce.com forums? They have support folks that will collect repro cases and help out.

Thanks!

Thanks!

I've posted a thread here[forums.geforce.com] which hopefully has enough information for them to look into.

I had this problem with Broken Age and the only way I could solve it was to turn off the Steam overlay in the game properties in Steam.

The same trouble with AMD Radeon.

Same problem here in Broken Age with the OpenGL issue.
Server: gtx 770 core i7
Client: intel hd200 core i5
Both running Windows 8.1
Gigabit LAN.

When I disable the Steam Overlay on my server all games seem to fail to work with home streaming - the stream does not update on the client, only the audio does.
I had that problem when my server wasn't connected to the router(cabel).

Same issue. Streaming to an i7 w/ NVIDIA GTS 360M from an i5 w/ NVIDIA GTX 770 over WiFi.

Please post reports on GeForce.com here:
https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/681305/opengl-and-valves-in-home-streaming/

NVIDIA is tracking this issue and looking for repro cases.

I'm getting the same issue with Dolphin emulator (non-steam) running OpenGL backend. Runs buttery smooth until 5 minutes~ when it freezes up on host with the aforementioned error.
