Stream to a google Chromecast
I recently bought a google chromecast to be able to stream netflix and youtube videos, and it works great for that. It got me thinking though, since you can now stream your steam games to another PC in the house, would it be possible in the future to stream your steam games to a google Chromecast in the house? It seems like there already is the technology for it. You wouldn't even need a Steam Machine to play on your HDTV, all you would need is a google chromecast and to be able to stream your games to it. If this is made possible, It certainly would benefit both Valve and Google. But what do you guys think?

They operate differently. I'm not a network technician, but In-Home Streaming works fine for me, but the Chromecast sits in it's box because it doesn't work.
I think it has something to do with DD-WRT firmware on the router, but cannot find info on how to resolve it. It works for a second, then nothing. Can't seem to find info on ports that need to be open, etc.
They're similar, but operate differently.
It would be nice, but then Google would want a cut and things would get greedy.

I think what you want and need like we stated in: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/homestream/discussions/0/540732596649606771/

This would meen an Android and IOS App that makes it possible to play games on our Smartphones. Tablets and big screen TV with things like the Chromecast or any other cheap Android TV stick.

Chromecast sticks are unfortunately so locked down that it's not going to be that easy. As wt7 said, its up to google and like hell they are going to support steam. However there was reports of a FirefoxOS type thing that is open.

For FFOS they would need to write an webApp which is able to handle this streaming. I think that would be realy cool, because such a webapp would run on every system, no matter what OS or architecture. But I don't think that will happen in the near future, because I'm not conviced that such a performance critical application like in home streaming could run in a webbrowser easy.

What about controls? They'd have to invent some other WiFi<->USB device for control if you're out of range of the PC. Not saying it's not a great idea, but there's no room for input on the CC

There are some ways to do this.
1. Install chrome onto your pc and cast your entire screen then run said game.
2. Install steam link on your mobile device and run it then cast your phone screen to chromecast.
