[REQ] IOS and Android support
Another great feature comes alive, but I think it's better for iPad and android tablets.
Playing with TF2 on the toilet is my dream... just kidding. :D

Definitely needed, I have android sticks attached to all TV's for Plex and netflix, being able to stream games to these TV's would actually have me buying games from steam once again. Win win for everyone!

The holy grail of Steam streaming no doubt. We know it's possible as Nvidia can do it via Shield/Gamestream.

Mouse / Keyboard would be no problem over Bluetooth. USB port - maybe. This is a hardware problem, your port needs to power those devices. F.e. my nexus 4 won't do that.
However you'll be unable to use xbox 360 controllers.

As long as I need to buy a few controllers AGAIN I'll just hook up my laptop to the tv, using my 360 controllers. But I'm really hoping for the steam controllers...

I am desperate for this feature, as I have AMD GPUs and would love a Shield, but can't afford to buy a shield and a GeForce GPU. If Steam would stream to android using AMD GPUs then I would be able just to use my phone or tablet with a gamepad. I can't see that this won't come, as Limelight has allowed it for Nvidia GPUs.

Yeah, I also have a tablet and would love this feature.

You know, you could always get a windows 8 tablet that has an intel atom plug your game controller in to the usb port and stream there?

Yes I had thought of that, good plan. But the shield is such an elegant solution. Also Windows 8 tablets are expensive just for gaming on, when W8 is worse than Android for a tablet OS (IMO).

W8 Surface tablets and iPad Air near on same price and you can buy an awesome android tablet for the Surface price
then who need w8 tablet?

just buy a strong PC and a good tablet and wait for "SteamPlay for tablets" :D

I definitelly agree. It's becoming more and more defining that households have a Tablet of some sorts, be it Android, iOS or W8. Having the client be integrated with the Steam application that already exists would be fantastic and would tie perfectly with the whole Steam environment.

I say wait before complaining until the in house streaming gets out of beta. Then start asking for tablet betas.

I think this is why the software encode, QuickSync, and WIntel are being heavily focused. Once you pull the trigger on these features, they HAVE to work and amaze the casual adopters, who most likely have a WIntel PC of some sort with all their stuff on it. Steam clients are of no use if you can't seamlessly push the content to them.

After that, building clients for the various devices will be like putting cherries on a sundae.

... or cake.

Yeah. Another reason why I can't wait for CUDA acceleration is because all the tablet ARM tegra chips have cuda cores too!

It would be nice even video streaming to Android devices without controller functions. Shield isn't bad, but there are SUCH delays and no possibility to use Tridef for Side-by-Side 3D creation (almost Oculus Rift) :D
