I just hope I can use a mouse and keyboard since my tablet has usb ports.
Mouse / Keyboard would be no problem over Bluetooth. USB port - maybe. This is a hardware problem, your port needs to power those devices. F.e. my nexus 4 won't do that.
However you'll be unable to use xbox 360 controllers.
As long as I need to buy a few controllers AGAIN I'll just hook up my laptop to the tv, using my 360 controllers. But I'm really hoping for the steam controllers...
Yeah, I also have a tablet and would love this feature.
You know, you could always get a windows 8 tablet that has an intel atom plug your game controller in to the usb port and stream there?
then who need w8 tablet?
just buy a strong PC and a good tablet and wait for "SteamPlay for tablets" :D
I think this is why the software encode, QuickSync, and WIntel are being heavily focused. Once you pull the trigger on these features, they HAVE to work and amaze the casual adopters, who most likely have a WIntel PC of some sort with all their stuff on it. Steam clients are of no use if you can't seamlessly push the content to them.
After that, building clients for the various devices will be like putting cherries on a sundae.
... or cake.
Yeah. Another reason why I can't wait for CUDA acceleration is because all the tablet ARM tegra chips have cuda cores too!
