Watch_Dogs Black Screen
When I want to stream Watch Dogs, I only get the audio to work - all I see on my TV is a black screen.
(btw I haven't bought Watch Dogs on Steam, but directly on uPlay and added it as a non-steam-game to my library.)
Probably, Ubisoft is responsible for this and not Valve, but do you have any suggestions anyway? I wanted to enjoy the game on my big TV instead of staring at my PC screen -_-

I bought it through steam, it launches through Uplay and does the same thing. Black screen only audio.

If you get sound, but no video on every game you try, can you run these steps?

Please look up your ip address on the client computer, and then from your hosting computer run this from a command prompt:
ping IPADDRESS -f -l 1472
If that number is too big, it'll show "Packet needs to be fragmented but DF set.", and reduce it by 10 until the ping goes through. Then once it goes through, increase it by 1 until it stops going through, and let me know the last value that worked.

Thanks!

Same issue here, other games work fine.

Same issue. I purchased Watch_Dogs on Uplay via the Nvidia promotion and added it to steam as a non-steam game. Whether I try to stream it directly or stream the uplay client and launch the game remotely I only get audio accompanied by a black screen. I am able to stream other games (both steam and non-steam) without any problems.

I have the same problem with Uplay and the Steam version. But it's not the only game that does that. Bioshock Infinite is only audio too (at least for me). So I don't think it has something to do with a launcher, cause Far Cry 3 works fine (also requires Uplay).

I discovered a fix. Try switching the game to borderless mode in the options (as opposed to fullscreen).

Doesn't work for me.

But I had an idea. Both, Bioshock and Watch_Dogs, run in DX11 as far as I know. Far Cry 3 still has the option to run in DX9. Could that be the problem? DX11?

Did a quick test and this seemed to work!

Mine is working fine now with borderless activated and under advanced client options in the in home streaming tab I unticked the 'hardware acceleration' checkbox.
I experienced the same issue.
Also, my xbox 360 wireless gamepad was not working.

I workarounded this issues by adding uplay as a non-steam game, and then launching watch_dogs from there.
That works better for me than launching the game directly and playing in borderless mode.
Borderless mode gave me 15fps, this method gives me between 35 and 60 fps! :)

Try it! :)

i have same issue. bought watch dogs with steam. when start it through in home streaming i have black screen and sound only. but if i push "A" button on my gamepad it start to loading on main PC, but still black screen on notebok. So game works fine on pc, but has no picture on notebook.

Tried add Uplay as non-steam game, start streaming that and start watch dogs from that in borderless mode. It works, but even in menu fps is very low, lags.
But PC play this game on high-ultra settings with 50-60 fps.

Yep. I works. Now they just need to fix the fps drops and some other problems - on my GTX 680, the fps suddenly went from 50-60 to 20 without going up again. This game has too many graphical problems... :(

When i saw new update for in-home streaming tonight, i hoped it is decision.
But my problems not solved. I have black screen in watch dogs. All other games works well.
I heard sound while black screen. It work when i push buttons on gamepad, start game from menu, can walk. But has no video. Black screen only. I tried hardware decoding on and off. all other settings in in-home streaming settings. But had same result.
Other games, like borderlands, work very well with awesome fps.
I see only one difference in watch dogs and other games - it is start from uplay, not directly from steam. May be it is the root of the problem?
Help please, i wanna play on TV :)

Same issue here.

I can get the game to stream if I do windowed or borderless windowed but doing that will cause low GPU usage in watch dogs resulting in a bad streaming experience.

But full screen streaming just doesn't seem to work at all. I just get a black screen.

And I have the steam version of WD too.

I don't get a completely black screen but my graphics are very dark making it unplayable.

Anybody else get this?
