Welcome to the event about cooperation and random luck. Chaos Skirmish is the biggest 4v4 event in Guns of Icarus Online, featuring randomized crews and loadouts. We take the most dedicated captains and shy engineers and place them where you wouldn’t see them any other day.

Lobby opening starts at 9:30PM EST! However, if you’re on our Discord or our Steam Group, you get the lobby password 10 minutes early! Lobby does open late for those in Europe. My apologies.

Well, yeah. If this event wasn’t public, no one would show up. As a certain pasta once told us, rank doesn’t matter. No matter where you are in Guns of Icarus, 5 minutes into the game and skipping the tutorial, or you’ve been playing since the beta testing, you’re welcome to come to the event!

We have a few special engineers come in an they developed a special program made to randomize the lobby with only the press of a button and a screenshot of all your pretty names. Through this randomizer, people will be assigned to a ship and crew at random. You’ll most likely be thrown into roles you don’t often play. But that’s the beauty of Chaos.

In order to move into your proper place in the lobby, you’ll have to listen to the designated speaker who will be calling out where everyone goes and what role you’ll be given. When you hear your name called for a specific spot, find that spot and use the “Swap Slot” function with the person currently in that place. We keep swapping throughout the randomization period until everyone is where they need be.

The match is, typically, a 4 versus 4. The first match, only the Captains of the ships are randomized. This means that 8 random people in the lobby will be placed as captains.The second and third matches, the lobby is fully randomized, but the second round is a surprise ruleset coming from your Hosts and the third is the community chosen ruleset. A weekly poll is created and put up by Lysanya to vote on.

Voting for the community ruleset involves picking betwen 3 of our rulesets. Whatever ruleset wins is played in the third round. The other two will remain on the poll until they win. Don’t be upset if you don’t get to play your favourite ruleset. It’ll have to be played EVENTUALLY.
