Updates 2/21

Hi everyone,

I'm excited to announce some progress that we've made in getting CSGO Draft started back up. It's only been a week back into the project, but we are working hard. So, here are the updates:

1. Servers are up-and-running. They are 128-tick servers located in Virginia, Ohio and Northern California. Right now, we only have two available to test (1 in Virginia and Ohio), but I'll be adding around 3-4 servers for each location. Most of those will be backups in case a server experiences any lag spikes or goes down. Also, we may need some people to test the servers. One more comment, if you are in the EU, I do have the capability of doing the CSGO Draft Tournaments in EU with these servers. They have many locations in the EU.

2. The servers have been installed with a nice mod for the CSGO Draft tournaments. The commands will be simple !ready or .unready commands. There are more commands, and that list will be given later.

3. We're turning our attention to the website now. Matt and I have been working pretty hard on getting the servers and the documentation. Now, we are going to start focusing on the website. There are a few automatic processes that we want to implement, but most of it will be a learning curve. More to come on the website later.

4. We plan on using Discord. We have ideas on how to implement this. It seems like a no-brainer.

5. We're still deciding on how we want to run the tournaments. I think there was a balancing act we had to do when we ran these tournaments before. We didn't want teams to enter and completely dominate the tournament, but at the same time, we wanted people to play with their friends. So, I'm thinking we'll allow someone to queue with just one friend. But, the teammaking will be random and done through the website.

Hey everyone,

I am happy to announce that the CSGO Draft project is coming back. I am currently in the very early stages of setting up servers, getting the site prepared, customizing some scripts for the draft tournaments, etc. Now, my team has a limited amount of time outside of jobs and school, but we are dedicating most of our free time to this project.

As a quick announcement, I will say that it’s a 2-man team building and testing at the moment. We will be needing help from volunteers who are interested in helping admin games. We will need a few shoutcasters. We may need a few other technically savvy programmers to help too. When we require more help, we will be posting on these forums and possibly on Reddit.
