L4D2 Fixes

As with the original L4D, if you are experiencing bluescreens or stuttering in game, try going to Options -> Video -> Advanced, and disable Multicore Rendering.

If you are getting a crash just after the intro movies, before you even see the menu, open steam and go to File -> Settings -> Downloads, and make sure you Download Region is set correctly. Then go to the games tab, right click on Left 4 Dead 2, Properties -> Local Files -> Verify integrity of game cache. Once that completes, you should be able to play again.

The 4th December patch notes neglected to mention that the 'IVP Failed' crash should now be fixed - We can all play Dead Center finale maps again.

Still no news on MatchMaking 2.0 (which is supposed to add team-matchmaking), although there are rumours it will be released Soon™



Also in the news is the Clear Skies project - Its a fan-made film, released in two 45 minute episodes, that blends HD video capture from the Source Engine and EVE Online to produce a movie set in the EVE galaxy. The voice acting is top quality, and its worth a watch for any sci-fi junkie.
