ABOUT FridgeKitty's Custom Map Fridays

Every Friday we play a new custom map for Left 4 Dead 2.

So here's how this group works.

Every week, we'll announce via Steam what map we intend to play. We'll provide the link for you to download it. You download, install, and test it on your own, then that Friday we play.

*** NOTICE: If you join our game, you need to be willing to see it through to completion! You will be insta-kicked from this group if you rage. ***

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO FIRST

1. Install add-on support (only need to do this once).
You will need to install Left 4 Dead 2 Add-On Support under Library -> Tools first.

2. Download and install the featured map.
Instructions on how to install maps/campaigns at the bottom of this section. Basically, you download the .ZIP file, you open it, and you drag its contents to your Left 4 Dead 2 addons folder (usually something like C:\Program Files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\addons or C:\Program Files\steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\addons if you're on 32-bit XP/Vista or 7)

3. Play it in single player first to make sure it works on your system. (Optional but highly recommended) Open L4D2, click on Single Player, then under Campaign, choose Add-On Campaign. Choose whatever map/campaign you downloaded that is featured that week.

THIS GROUP IS INVITE ONLY. If you have friends you want to invite, make sure they:

• Are prepared to play the campaign to completion
• Aren't douches or griefers
• Are decent team players (i.e. work well with others)
• Are proficient enough with a computer to handle custom map installation
• Are fairly regular L4D2 players (at least once a week, preferably more)

New Official Server!!

Hey Everybody, Good News:

Since Nitro's server will be down for a while, DarkHouse has been awesome enough to buy our own official private server just for custom map fridays. Nitro has also been nice enough to help get it working with the same setup that his server had. This guarantees:

1. Little to no server-side lag (we've personally tested it ourselves to see how much insanity it can handle at a time).
2. Average to good pings for everyone (based on his or her connection), since its situated in Chicago, which should benefit both east coasters, west coasters, and Canadians alike.
3. Having the server up and running whenever we need it with all the maps we've done and plan on doing again, so we can just get on and play whichever map we want. We will also be using it for testing campaigns as well.
4. No silly server-side mods except for a very balanced version of survivor crawl which is useful for incapacitated survivors getting out of buggy places they shouldn't be, or that teammates should have access to.
