PSX Buttons Mod?
Just want to play like when I was a child. Is that possible like you did in FF13 arc?

Extract it into the FINAL FANTASY IX folder in Steam(/Steam/steamapps/common/FINAL FANTASY IX). It modifies the sharedassets2.assets file and will not work with anything else that also modifies that file.

Outside of tha screenshot, it's untested. Let me know of any issues. Remember by default this version of the game uses Circle as Confirm and Cross as Cancel. So make sure you change that in Config!

Meh I can live with the LT RT LB RB as it's easy enough for my mind to translate that. It was the others that cause me confusion. Thanks for this I will try it later. :2016snocone:

Mainly because it would be a pain in the ass to find the right font, etc. and I don't think it would be that beneficial. I might be not remembering correctly, but I don't think the game will ever prompt you to press those buttons. So it would literally just be for that screen and the Config menu. And also as vigilnova666 said, it's a lot easier to translate them than it is the face buttons.

True the game doesn't ever ask you to use them but they are in use for controlling the camera. That said it's easy to get used to translating those buttons in your head.

Download got removed please repost the link with spaces so steam doesn't auto remove it.
(you should also add this to FF9 guides so more people see it if that's what you want)

Links often get removed for a number of reasons. Lack of significant use. Some dummy reported it. Upload to a website with a poor reputation or a reputaion for pirated or dangerous material. Personally I recommend Uploading to Mega as it's fairly stable and links can be remade quite easily by the owner just right clicking the file. More importantly it's free for up to 50 GB

Can someone that knows the Link uploader contact him and tell him the link got removed so i can test it?
Tried adding him to inform him what happened since his profile is private and he blocked me.. nice.....

That mod breaks the game for me. Did anyone got it to work correctly without crashing the game or other bugs?

100% the game without a problem with the mod (well besides Squenix lame iphone porting job)
Don't bother trying to contact the mod uploader or add him just a waste of time.....

No problems for me except the ones stated.

I don't understand. I even uninstalled the game from my pc, deleted all files, reinstalled, and then once this file goes into the folder the game just won't get past the "Final Fantasy IX" logo when I launch it. Just a black screen...

Yeah, I guess something was updated and broke it. I had the same problem. Here's an updated version of the files which is working for me. Again just extract into the main Steam "FINAL FANTASY IX" folder.

mediafire [dot] com/file/aocg5made1b2m2b

The port is around a year old now, I doubt they'll update again. But I used the Unity Asset Bundle Extractor to make this. Found here:

https://7daystodie.com/forums/showthread.php?22675-Unity-Assets-Bundle-Extractor

You want to find the "Icon Atlas" and "Screen Button Atlas" *TEXTURES* not Materials, click on them, then Plugins to the right, then Edit, at the bottom click "Load" next to Textures, and change them with these files:

Icon Atlas: http://imgur.com/oQVRU9w

Screen Button Atlas: http://imgur.com/F5CZB1T

This description was from memory so some may be wrong. lol.

EDIT: To be clear, the mediafire link is all you need right now. But if something goes wrong with it in the future, the part about the Unity Asset Bundle Extractor is how you would fix it.
