Guardians of Terra (Final Fantasy 9)

I always thought it'd be extremely cool to see ALL the 4 Boss fights against the 4 elemental Guardians at Disc 3. You actively fight only the Earth Guardian, with Zidane and Quina. The other 3 are fought by the other couples offscreen. Kind of a let down, in my opinion. I mean, it's true you'll actually face them in a second moment, near the end of the game, but I still think it'd be a cool addition to an already cool game. Do you guys think it'd be a good idea, or even possible to modify the game to add those Boss fights (Dagger & Eiko VS Water Guardian, Steiner & Vivi VS Air Guardian, and Freya & Amarant VS Fire Guardian)? And if yes, do you know a site I could ask to? Or if there's someone interested?

Hmmmm not a bad idea though you can actually fight those bosses in the crystal world.

Hi! Yeah, that's true, but things are a bit different at that point: just as the Earth Guardian evolved in a more powerful version of himself (the Lich) so did the other Guardians; so technically, the boss fights in Memoria and the regular fights with the copies in Crystal World are different than what they could have been in the Shrines, or maybe just more difficult. I was wondering if someone could help me on this, by recreating those boss fights (as I said, I could discuss the terms with who's interested, and eventually find an agreement), possibly with models based on artworks and cutscenes, with the characters couples dictated by the storyline. It'd be cool, considering they were originally going to be included in the game, but cut at a certain point (that is, in fact, one of the very few part in the game I find disappointing)

True. Now considder this. How would you do it? You got 2 options. First if the devs did intend to have those fights originally and they created and left behind the assets for them then a modder would have to find, decrypt and activate those assets and mod the game to trigger them which means editing the flags. Second implies SE either did not intend for those fights to be there or cleaned up the assets before release which would mean the modders would then have to creat said assets and mod them into the game as mentioned previously. Given how busy the modders here have been elsewhere and irl I don't see this happeneing any time soon but thats me. I won't discourage your trying to get them to do it though as it's an awesome idea and I do love FF9 more than most FF games

I agree, I know it won't be easy, but I still want to at least try. I also thank you for the encouragement. If I can ask, do you know someone talented/I could eventually talk about this?
