Skins, while in most's experience they may seem hard to price, and even harder to sell, due to this, many people will be willing to sell great skins for dirt cheap on classifieds or in trade servers.

I have been seeing an influx of interest in skin trading recently, so I'll be posting a small profit guide here

Firstly: Stray away from anything under 10 refined.

Low value skins, and low wear skins usually don't sell, therefore I'd reccomend investing into a small amount of high value skins.

However, due to the fact that many skins are effectively 1:1 on market due to almost never being listed, prices are somewhat impossible to gauge, so you can essentially list them at whatever you'd like, within reason

Here's some signs of a good skin deal:

-You think it's a good deal
-It has many addons (ks, strange parts, festivized, e.g)
-It has little to no competition
-Compare it to simillar wear tiers on SCM, is it still a good price?
-Do you like the skin? Or is it some ugly civic duty?
-It has some sort of rare pattern

Here's some signs that it's not a good deal

-The skin is ugly'
-The skin has lots of competition
-The skin is low tiered, or is generally disliked
-That someone has had the skin for a long time, or is on a bot (Hint; check item history for this)


Dependant on the number of positive factors, you purchase the skin and resell based on desireability. If the item is quite nice, you can list it higher. If the item is mediocre, list it a fair bit higher than you bought it for, and if it's undesirable, simply re quicksell it.


Conclusion: Skin trading is fun, and can be very profitable, but it is a very risky business, with pitfalls everywhere. So be informed before getting into it!
