What do the Thumbs Up vs Thumbs Down indicator mean?
I'm referring to the blue thumbs up and red thumbs down icon on the right sidebar, above the title's name, on the store page.

At first I thought it was Positive Reviews vs Negative reviews for a game. But that can't be. It isn't even close to the actual ratio.

Then I thought it was just the # of times the blue thumbs up icon was selected (vs red thumbs down) in response to a review. But I checked that, and again, it isn't even close to the ratio.

I've looked on the main website, and I don't see anything described like it in the features.

For an example, check out the Forest's store page: http://store.steampowered.com/app/242760/

It has 100% thumbs up, 0% thumbs down.

What is it referring to?

...please don't troll my thread. If you do not want to be helpful, just leave. There is no need to be rude or disrespectful.

These thumbs up and thumbs down indicators are the aggregate total of the top 50 reviews for a game that are rated "most helpful". While I agree that this isn't as good a score as having the total percentage of all reviews on Steam, there currently isn't an API on the web that has access to this data.

So it should be used as a general guideline for the community reviews. The best thing you can do to make this number more accurate for everyone is to participate in the review process by marking which ones you've found helpful or not.

Got it, that makes sense. Top 50 reviews, as defined by "most helpful."

Thank you.
