TL:DR I figured I'd post this here as well cause it seems nobody saw my discussion board. Gimme some ideas

Now, of course I don't know if this will happen, but we should try to make an effort to get our server back up, popular again, and with new ideas. This is the place for you guys to drop your thoughts on it. Let me start us off:

*Ahem*

A few ideas I have are as follows,

• Map Rotation:This'll keep the server alive, instead of staying on the same map all the time. I know there's issues with map downloads, but people can provide map links.
  
• Tighter Rules:I think that the original rules were a little bit too light; there were a lotta loopholes. For a future server, the MOTD shouldn't include the rules, rather, a link should be provided ever so often in the chat. I did draft a set I can present for critique though I don't remember where I put it...
  
• More Events:Quite simply, the server was kind of bland without any real events. I think this might correlate with the map rotation idea; we can have Arena some days, regular tf2 others, rocket jumping others, et cetera. You guys can bring stuff to the table as well. Thats why I made this
  
• Willing/Trustable Admins:OK, this is a minor thing. We just need some admins who can dedicate a few hours of their time to the server per day/week and know how to use their powers properly/have had experience.
  
• Group/Server Promotion:Invite Your Friends!!!

Again, this list is for us. Drop your ideas down below, just make sure they aren't nonsensical/troll posts or stuff that's already been in the server since 2011. Thanks and lets get a-thinkin', ladies and germs!!

I miss this group guys. Just hanging out on the server, having fun. I miss that, all of it. I don't know what the hell went wrong exactly but for all I know we're a dead group. A dead group with a bad rep. Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing anybody, I'm not saying the group sucks. Its just that, in general, we're not as alive and kicking as most other groups are. And, well, we had some bad run ins with hacks, DDoS's, and crappy admins. My hope for 2016? Well, I hope that some good soul out there who still wears the tag/still enjoys or really enjoyed the group when it was more active comes up with some ideas. I'll start a discussion thread here to see if anyone wants to revive the servers for the summer.

For those I hung out with regularly some 2-3 years ago, thanks, it was a ride. Hope to see you all again

Hey guys! So I know a lot of you have been disappointed with the lack of =[DSG]= activity, and that's understandable. I've been spending all my time at school, and to be honest I haven't spoken with FIST in...a year? Way long, anyway. It has been too long since we've had our own server, and I think you can help change that.

I still have a server kicking around, one which could easily host at least one TF2 server at a time (although you could probably put more than one on with reduced players, like I used to do) and was thinking that someone might want to take over and run a TF2 server (or any other game server you like) on it. It's a bit of an involved process with setting it up, though there's plenty of great tutorials and I can lend a hand here or there when I have a chance.

It won't be free, as it would be covering the hosting costs, but it'll be a lot cheaper than going to gameservers.com and getting one. But you could easily recoup the costs with donations, VIP perks and such each month (I would know) and maybe make a little extra for giveaways, though profit should definitely not be your primary concern.

I'm really looking for someone commited to the group, possibly an ex-admin, to take it over and run the whole show. If you're interested, let me know.
