Can reselling items get you in trouble ?
Well i started to get a little bored and most of the day my life consists of web designing and playing games (like diablo) for money (like auction) so seating at home and by PC whole day :)

I was alot bored yesterday while i was playing diablo and decided to do a little buy sell research on market, since i had some money on my wallet i found few items that from time to time have big price drop, so i was watching and refreshing few pages with those items, buying them when i saw it for low price, and than resell it when price is a bit higher, thus earning few cents.

But soon enought i barely managed to earn enought for some cheap game, steam sent me notification that i just made 200 transactions (wow, time fly by when you do something interesting), and i had to verify my informations and i could continue with market.

So im not doing anything illegal here, no bots, no spams, no hacks or other auto buy scripts.

Except while im playing game on my laptop, i open few tabs in firefox on my desktop pc, and set to auto refresh every few seconds, when i see interesting price, i click to buy item. This actually isn't any cheating, i do all the work fair and by hand(and mouse), except if you count auto refresh cheating, but this is built in function in firefox.

I did not found anything on marketplace TOS about reselling items, but i know that steam sometime know to ban people without hard valid reason. And by doing this i will make thousands of transactions monthly and this might seem suspicious to steam.

So my question is did anyone had any experience or(and) trouble by reselling items?

I do this quite often. It's a valid approach to making money on the market. Sadly, there are people doing this with bots and since your not, I see no reason not to be reselling. To answer your question, I have not experienced any trouble buying and reselling items.

Can you clarify what "verify" meant exactly? "A captcha, a link in an email, what?)

If you go over 200 sales you're required to confirm you're not a US citizen for tax purposes. Unless you are, and then I don't know what happens. It's something everyone's had to do.

if your a us citizen then valve wants your tax info(lol).

and besides, unless your getting unbeleavable deals, valve is probably making more profit off each trade then you are. :dstools:

At moment when you reach 200 sales on market valve remove your items from market listing and don't allow you to post anymore. They give you link to page where you confirm if you are US citizen or not, i don't know for US citizens but i am not. And they redirected you to page where you give them address, country, city, postal code(like they don't know that all from my credit card purchase already) and that's it, they give you access to market sales again

You got that right, they basically do double sale and while i was earning 0.20 - 0.30 per sale, valve was earning 0.10 - 0.20 for sale from person i bought, than again 0.20 - 0.30 from my sale.

I used to buy items cheap and resell them for a tiny profit, maybe making in the reigon of 0.02p to 0.10p per item profit but with the 200 items a year limit, I no longer do this.

I did make a bit a money which I used buying games, DLC etc on steam.

You do realize there's no more limit.
