How To Fix FPS in Black Ops

This Is not the lag issue. See my other annoucement for the fix to that!

This is recommended for The Average Computer/Entry Level Gaming Computer.

I Get A Good 45-62FPS With This Trick.

Open up Single Player or Multiplayer Black ops. (YOU WILL HAVE TO DO THIS ON BOTH SINGLE AND MULTIPLAYER, IT DOES NOT CONFIGURE BOTH AT THE SAME TIME!!)

Next Goto The Setting-Graphics.

Set These Settings:

Video Mode "1280x800 (if on A Widescreen Monitor that is 13 inches or bigger!) Or 1024x800 (if on Normal Screen 15 Inches Or smaller)"

Full Screen "On/Yes"

Anti-Aliasing- "Off or 2x if on a Good Modern Graphics Card (This Means A Geforce 8800 GTS/9800 GTX/GT- GT 240/270/280/320m/340. Or Radeon 4850/4870/5680/5970/5980/Mobile Radeon 5830)

Aspect Ratio "Auto"

Screen Refresh Rate "60 Hz"

Sync Every Frame "No" (This Doesnt Effect Visual Detail, infact this is the #2 Cause of huge loss of Framerate)

Texture Filtering "Bilinear"

Anisotropic Filtering "All The Way down or 2 bars if on one of the Graphics cards listed above"

Texture Quality "Low or Normal if on one of the Graphics cards listed above and you have a dual core processor"

Brightness (Doesnt matter as this has no effect on framerate)

Shadows "No or Yes if on one of the Graphics Card Listed above and you have a dual core processor"

Bullet Impacts "NO This doesnt effect the visual of bullets hiting a wall or anything but them being shot at you and flying past at high speed (This is the #1 Cause of FPS Loss)"

Field Of View "All The Way down or 2 bars if on one of the Graphics cards listed above"

Hit Apply then restart the game. Once the Game Is restarted do this:

Open up the task manager whilst at the menu and set Black Ops priorty to high and Steams priorty to low by pressing the Processes Tab then right Click BlackOps.exe (if on Single Player Black Ops) Or BlackOpsMP.exe (if on Multiplayer Black Ops.) Then goto Priority then set it as said above...

AMD Athlon x2 @ 2.25ghz

4.50gb Ram

250gb HDD @ 7200RPM

Geforce GT 240

Apple 20inch Monitor

Windows Vista Home Premium SP2

How to Fix Multiplayer Lag (Almost all the time)

While in game\on a server, change your sound settings via the menu and click apply. Sounds strange I know but in doing this I've noticed ALOT less stutter. Still runs far from perfect but atleast it is now playable.

Note - You'll have to do this every round/reload of the server. Annoying, yes, but if it helps until an offical patch is released, then so be it.

Another thing to try, and what peeps are also saying helped elimate the stutter, is to bring up the task manager whilst in game and set Black Ops priorty to high and Steams priorty to low. As I say, this is far from a 100% fix, but it has helped rid alot of the stutter for me

Also try Reinstalling DirectX From the Black ops disk by going into the disk (Right click- Explore) then resorces then Redist, DirectX then open the setup at the bottom of the folder. I Did all 3 of these and almost no lag for me :)

TIP: When Downloading A File at A Direct Download Site Check and see if your download speed is at at least 768k/b a second or higher anything lower than this also makes terrible lag and i cant help you with this.

Now To Find out a fix for the inviting bug.
