If you paste your log file, I can dive into it a bit deeper. At first glance it looks to be one of two things:
1) Could have been a temporary error on the game server. That would be weird though, because I haven't heard any other reports... but is definitely still possible (it's amazing how many errors can happen before someone reports them, sometimes).
2) Sounds like an error on your box with either the HDD or more-likely with the network-card where it's trying to write the packets & it's not working.

The log file might have better info (at least for me to narrow down between #1 and #2.

I tried to do the process to find the log file, but in the part of open the folder that is suppose to open up, it the just dont open ( maybe its a error with the connection between Steam and the Nautilus file manager). You know the path that a can do to manually find this log file? I could move through command line if necessary.

Clicking the button isn't doing anything on my Ubuntu box right now... current version of Steam client might have a bug. Ubuntu is upgrading itself now, but when it calms down, I'll look for the path.
