[Contribution] Battlefield 2042 Sound Dump[UPDATED 25/3/2025]
This isn't everything. Most notably VO was omitted due to the labor involved, but it'd also bloat the file size for something I don't think many people care for. If you really want the VO build Frosty Editor 1.0.7.0 and rip all of them yourself.

Some sound containers were also just too large to load or would just crash the editor, it wasn't too common thankfully so most of what you want is here.

Some things to know:
A lot of sounds aren't named properly, so depending on what it is you may have to dig for whatever you're looking for.
Some sounds were dumped in a weird way, so you may find files that sound like they're looping over and over again, but it's actually the variations playing one after another. Use Audacity or something to cut out what you need.

What?? Of course they have some appeal. Didn't you know they rerecorded all the battlefield 3 and bad company 2 voicelines? They got the original voice actors back to record. Additionally, the 2042 soldier lines from the AI are pretty well done from what I heard too. It's only the specialists that had problems.


Wait, seriously? Are you sure they're not just ripped from the older games? Truth be told I never got to play much portal because it's mostly just a bunch of XP Farm lobbies.

I'll test them side by side. Depending on the results there might be an early Christmas present for you, but I've been working on other stuff so it'll take even longer

Not at all. I would've thought that they would've just reused the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 & Battlefield 3 voice recordings/files. They reused some audio, if not the original samples/recordings from those games for the weapons (Although most of it comes from Battlefield 3 & onward, the Tracer Dart gun still uses the weapon foley as used in Battlefield: Bad Company), so I can imagine that they would have no need to rerecord dialogue unless they called them all back in for new lines. I'd have to be educated on this, though. All I do know about Battlefield 2042 was that Michael K. Williams returned to reprise his role as Kimble "Irish" Graves, but sadly met an untimely death before the game launched and besides the... examples of the Specialists dialogue for launch, that's as much as I knew in this regard as I haven't really kept up with Battlefield 2042 much after it launched.
Perhaps a better choice of words on my part would've been "(For what appeal they might nowadays have gained since the game's launch)".

I do have extractions from Battlefield: Bad Company & Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on hand, but they're much too large a size for me to upload in a reasonable amount of time as I still hope to eventually manage (Assuming that I don't find a sufficient tool-kit to fully extract audio that the former lacks such as weapon fire audio or Singleplayer voice). Refer back to someone who has extractions of the Faction dialogue (Both Multiplayer & Singleplayer) for both Battlefield: Bad Company & Battlefield 1943 in the meantime (I've been wanting to extract the Singleplayer voice-over for the Bravo One Charlie bunch & other scripted Singleplayer dialogue, but it's a very tricky process I've never gotten around to finishing, but the unused conversations I did find so far are a treat that I badly wish I could much more feasibly get out in the open).

No, sorry. With the tools we have it'd be a very laborious process to rip them and this project was a lot of work on it's own. Personally I have no interest in doing so at the current moment, but the tools used (FrostyToolsuiteExporter then pulling from upstream) are free and available for you to grab what you want on your own.

I have the game, program, and and encrpytion key but whenever I try to create the .sdk or view the files I get a stack trace and frosty shuts down. I was wondering since you were able to get it to work here if there was anything else involved in getting it to work, I wasn't able to find any help in the frosty discord

I used the exporter fork of 1.0.7.0 and pulled from upstream so that it's up to date with the main branch of 1.0.7.0, but last time I tried I had similar crashing issues. If you got a pre built version that might be your issue. Try building it yourself.

For the decryption key I used the one for FIFA 20 I think. It's the really long one.

Something else I should mention is that the SDK creation doesn't work for 2042, and even if it did, 2042 support for Frosty is export only anyway. Exit out of that prompt when it asks.

That's all I know, though. 2042 support was never finished so it's a bit of a pain to get working. Hopefully the new version of Frosty that should come within our lifetimes comes out and solves all of this(no guarantee, they work on their own time) but by then BF6 will be out. :/

Yeah I have a premade version used for modifying Need for Speed: Unbound, I'm tryna pull some of the skyboxes and visual environments from 2042. I figured it was something with the anti-cheat as BF1 has similar .sdk generation issues, but unlike 2042 it opens fine when I exit the .sdk prompt. In any case, I've been thinking of building my own 1.0.7 for awhile, this might be the push to finally do it.
