Media Player for Big Picture!

Hey,

first of all Big picture is a great thing. It's very comfortable, which i wasnt used to with my PC. I would love it to control my media via my remote Controller. A intregated Media Player in Big Picture would be wonderful! Here's a list with stuff I'd like with it.

- Extra Tab (like community) for Videos, Photos and Music Called "Media"
- Play Videos, Music, Photo from the Harddrive!
- Explorer which is usable with the controller (Audiosurf?)
- Being able to upload a Video/Music/Photo and tagging a Game to it.
- Able to play Playlist, not necessary to make one in Big Picture but to play one would be nice.
- Music Controller in overlay too, that would save up the alt+tab and would make the music accesible, when using a Controller.

I would really, really be happy if this would be happening!

i'm all for the media player function, even if it just frames my winamp install or something like that, a place for a media player in the overlay would be perfect

This most definitely needs a media player. it could be a separate tab or a section of the library. One thing i would like is if it could remember where your music is (similar to Itunes does when you drag and drop music into your library) instead of having to browse for it everytime.

I was thinking of entirely turning my computer into a big picture system, and this would make it possible.

For now you could run XBMC out of steam as one of your games. You have to edit a file but you can give XBMC full controller support I never have to use a keyboard going from big picture to XMBC and back out again.

Thanks Chrono! Thats a pretty good Alternative! Now i can play from my Bed without having it uncomfortable

+1 on this. I also need access to Netflix and spotify via big picture, please. If Big Picture can replace XBMC, I would be thrilled. I would even be willing to pay for these things as applications, btw

Yeah, i currently use my PC as a Media center via XBMC and play games on it as well but I would like to have the media center functionality within Big Picture, I'm pretty sure Valve could create a fork off the latest Frodo build and support the XBMC community in return.

Is it currently possible? I mean there's support on steam to sell software, so these media center apps just need to get on it? With the appropriate big picture/controller/etc support <3.
