If you meant "you can't" open it, then you have a problem with your controller, perhaps you got bad drivers, try reinstalling the ones the pad came with, or seeing if the logitech website has updated drivers.
2.This was intentional on the part of valve, they said (as i recall it) "we disabled Xinput controllers from being reconfigured because the drivers themselves should do that" If you flip the switch to direct input, and the controller then correctly reads as direct input, you should be able to rebind the keys, but said rebinding will only work for direct input mode, not carrying over to Xinput.
but if i play a other game without the gfwl overlay i cant open the steam overlay everytime i press the middle button nothing happens.
Thats the thing that makes me thinking why can i openthe gfwl overlay but not the steam even in games without gfwl.
2. in Direct-Input i can rebind all keys but not the middle button it is like it is really not working with steam thats why i wanted to try rebinding the middle button via Xinput but in the logitech software you cant rebind the middle putton there the middle button is really only reserverd for special stuff like opening a overlay -.-
As for the other problem, that is a very curious bug you have there, and I won't hesitate to say that I am completely at a loss for why the button would correctly open gfwl, but yet not open the steam overlay.
That is something you will have to hope a tech will come along and help you resolve, because as i mentioned in the first part of this post, you can't rebind that functions button, so it should always be the home (middle) button, maybe try flipping between the two modes and see if that fixes the problem?
thats why i asked why i cant rebind the controller in bigpicture when it is in Xinput i thought rebinding the middle button would solve the problem -.-
I have no problems going to the overlay with the logitech button. I`m using the Steam Beta Update so you can try to use that.
i just tested it again and looks like the logitech button now works for me in x-mod too. looks like one of the many updates finally fixed it.
But why didnt they fix the d-mod too ?
I really would like to bind the logitch button manually to the overlay function in the settings menu that gets avaiable only when you use the d-mod.
And yea i just tested the gamepad in CSGO looks like there x-mod dosnt work at all and and the Buttons are totally messed up in d-mod.
The Fall doesn't play with X-Input buttons, and the preferred driver for Steam is D-Input. But my Home button can't be mapped in Big Screen mode.
