1. Yes. Using BT, USB cable or USB dongle with VirtualHere. Just like any other controller including steering wheels and HOTAS.

2. Sounds like you need to use Input Viewer app on Shield TV and set a larger dead zone. Also worth checking that Nvidia Gamepad Mapper is not applying any configs to controllers when connected to Shield by enabling developer options and disabling Nvidia Gamepad Mapper. Also màke sure firmware on controllers, android os and android apps are updated too latest available. Always use Steam client beta on host pc too. Make sure no other gamepad remapping tools are running on Shield or host pc to ensure Steam Input does its magic unhampered.

The fact that PS4 and Shield Controllers give same unexpected behaviour indicates you are seeing software issues and is less likely to be hardware issues. I suspect something on Shield TV is not quite right but could be Steam Link App bugs, Steam client bugs or some other gamepad emulation software on Shield or host pc is conflicting with Steam Input.

My hunch is something on Shield TV is telling Steam Link App to map controllers in a way causing the unwanted drift. Or you are seeing bugs with Steam Link App. Though if your controllers do not cause drifting mouse in android Steam Link App is primary suspect. Assuming you have no other gamepad emulation or remapping tools running in host pc or Shield.

Am sure you can fix.

To use Steam Controller on Shield TV see the gist at https://www.reddit.com/r/ShieldAndroidTV/comments/b0kdje/how_to_use_nvidia_button_on_shield_controller/

https://youtu.be/9ctXGYI_9Nk

Just use Steam Controller dongle and Steam Controller instead of USB cable and Shield Controller to use Steam Controller wirelessly exactly like on local pc without using BT.

How to manage Steam Controller pairing modes is described at https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7728-QESJ-4420#switch

I am not great at all. Nvidia Shield TV and Steam are greatest gaming solution available on planet Earth. All credit to Nvidia devs and Steam devs.

Credit to you too for choosing Shield TV! You will see how and why Shield TV is most awesome Steam Machine. Shield TV is the ultimate Steam Machine imo. Especially when married with cloud gaming services like Shadow and Paperspace.

😎

GFN reminds me why I do not use SteamOS! I rarely ever use GFN but use Shield for cloud gaming every single day. Enjoying pc gaming without using a local gaming spec rig has been a very liberating experience for me.

I don't understand why more of my friends do not use Shield TV for things like cloud gaming using full virtual windows vm, as an alternative to owning a gaming spec pc.

I like your enthusiasm.
