Can someone explain how to counteroffer?
Been going back and forth with a user today, trying to hash out a deal. Twice when he/she made an offer, I tried to counteroffer but ended up canceling. The first time was a misclick on my part, but the second time, I was just confused.

The offer was 3 games for 3. I wanted to counter by changing it to 2 games for 3 (swapping out a game I wanted more).

However, the page still showed me the 3 games that were originally offered and I saw no way of removing them. I can click the box, but there was no remove button. Should I have ignored them and just re-added everything from both our game lists?

I am not sure I am asking this clearly. Hmm.

Yes, it is confusing, because if you don't finish your counteroffer, it just declines instead.

To remove a game from the offer, check the box and then go up a bit, above the first person in the offer. There should be a "Remove Selected Tradables" (or something like that) button. You can then add other games as you please by checking the boxes and using the "Add to offer" button. Once you figure it out, it works pretty well, but there is a bit of a learning curve.

Also remember when you're finalizing your offer to make sure you set the number of games correctly. In your case you would need to change the games to the 3:2 you want, then after you choose "Add to offer", it will default to "1 of these for 1 of those". So you need to go to the section between the two parties (under the games of the first person), and there are arrows and it says "in exchange for". Change one to 3 (all) and the other to 2 (all) and click "Set" (you just need to click it once and it will set both sides of the offer at the same time). When you have the offer set up the way you like, you can submit it.

I hope this helps. I don't think I've worded it very clearly, but if you need more help, feel free to ask.

I can't believe I didn't see that Remove button! :steamfacepalm: It was so easy.

The number thing was also confusing yesterday; I ended up asking for 1:1 when I mean 2:3. I think I finally have it figured it out, and the trade went through. Thanks very much for the help!
