AVP2 on Windows 10 with 1080p, stretching and crashing fix

Hi i decide to make tutorial how launch AVP2 on modern system i hope you enjoy this tutorial also english is not my native language so if i do some errors sorry
1. Download game from http://avpunknown.com/avp2files/avp2game/avp2_avp2ph_aio.zip or install your box version
2. Install game, then update and singleplayer map pack update
3. Copy crack to AVP2 main folder(even if you have legit version because securom and safedisc DRM are not working in WIN10)
4. Launch avp2.exe go to display options if displays is set to graphics driver change it to your graphic card and press ok
5. Launch game go to options and graphics set graphics options to best
6. Exit game
7. Download custom launcher from https://github.com/SuiMachine/AVP2-Custom-Launcher/releases click on avp110.7z and save it
8. Unpack files to AVP2 main folder right click on AVP_CustomLauncher.exe go to properties then compatibility tab and check run as admin and hit apply
9. Find lithtech.exe right click and go to properties compatiblity tab and check run as admin and launch in compatibility mode choose windows 98/me and click apply(this fix crashing for me when loadings missions)
10. Launch AVP_CustomLaucher( i suggest to make desktop shortcut because you need use this laucher now not the AVP2.exe) go to game settings enter 1920x1080 in resolution tab and check enable aspect ratio fix and type 90 i also suggest disable logos and disable joystick
11. Click save and close
12. Click start the game
13. Done now game will be launch in 1080p(main menu will be small image but when you load level it should be native 1080p) without stretching image also if you set everything as i say in 9 step your game should not crash between levels loadings also not enter graphics options in game because it will reset your resolution i hope i help you with playing this amazing game in modern systems :)

I only test 1080p but i think it should work in 1440p you need put different value in aspect ratio fix if you want play in other resolutions than 16:9 without streached screen also game menu and HUD will be really small in 1440p

Sooo I followed this guide to a T and I get the error below when I start the game via the custom launcher. (Keep in mind, I followed ALL of the instructions, they aren't hard to follow.)

"AVP2 Error: Couldn't set D3D emulation mode. Shutting down AVP2..."

Sorry for late respond but to be honest i dont know what is causing this did you sure you followed every step? Because i never had this issue did AVP2 from normal launcher works ?

well i really want to play this masterpiece but i cant get it running im using windows 10 all i see from the game is a tiny blackbox and it goes away i do all your`e steps :( didnt even get a error message

Hi guys, I can run the game on windows 10 but when I try and start a campaign (anyone one of them) it loads up to a certain point and sends me back to the main menu- no error message or crash, just a return back to the main menu.
I've tried various combatability options (windows 98/me etc.) but nothing seems to work.
Any suggestions?

It was McAfee blocking the sres.dll file, disabling the real time scan worked

Does anyone know if there's a fix for tiny in-game subtitles? I play in 1080p, and the subtitles are so small that they are nearly unreadable. There's a patch for an earlier Monolith game (No One Lives Forever) that makes subtitles scale correctly in widescreen resolutions. I wonder if such a patch exists for AvP 2 as well.

You can try launch game in lower resolution then force higher resolution in dgvodoo2.

Doesn´t work for Windows 11. I try to launch it, and only there´s a black window and the program closes. Anyone have the solution?
