Paid mods make a comeback at Bethesda's E3 convention as "Creation Club"

Recently, Bethesda revealed "Creation Club" As the video states, credits will be used to buy content have it appear immediately in game. According to the video, the community and outside developers will be "working hand in hand" with Bethesda games.

It would seem as if they're painting it out to be as if it's some form of highly professional thing, and not some garbage pay to mod system where anyone can put up any regular mod for any price (such as the travesty that was paid mods on the steam workshop). Though, I highly doubt that is the case. I can see this spiralling out of control like last time this was attempted. Top community developers pullign their mods off of the Nexus and putting it up for a price on the creation club, mod theft, and the in general ridiculous concept of having to pay for mods, like really!?

I don't know about you guys, but if this platform truly takes off, I'd be ready to bring the group back out of hibernation! That is only if our current members are willing to rally around us and help us bring it back to life if need be!

Once again, we want to bring the group back to life! However, a lack of interest in the community might be an issue (we've lost over 500 members during our dormancy!). However, if people are still willing to rally around this cause, we would be glad to continue the push against paid mods!

Bethesda.net workshop and popular mod author Arthmoor supporting paid mods

After a long amount of inactivity, I've decided to post an announcement on this group. I've returned to ask the followers of our group to stay a little weary. I've also returned to discuss a popular modder's stance on paid mods. As a fellow mod creator, I'm generally against the idea of Bethesda making their own workshop, seeing as how it will only divide the modding community further than it already is along with "Skyrim Special Edition" which will definitely divide the modding communtiy with a lot of popular mods not getting ported. Bethesda has said repeatedly that they plan to return paid mods to the scene.

It's becoming more and more obvious with the new workshop platforn and dividing the modding communtiy with an HD re-release that the Bethesda.net workshop is going to become their platform for such a pay to use system. Such is the sad sight to see a popular modder such as Arthmoor (created the unofficial skyrim patches, bring out your dead, and alternate start live another life). In a dicussion I had made awhile back regarding oblivion and the workshop I brought up to the forums about my suspicions of Bethesda.net to which arthmoor showed his clear support of both the platform and paid mods with the quote "Good. I welcome it" (The discussion along with Arthmoor's post can be found here: https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/discussions/-1/864961721719050376/?ctp=2) It's unfortunate to see a lot of popular modders become more and more pro-paid mod. I've also seen increased amount of support for it in the discussion forums and other places. At this rate we might be seeing the return of paid mods very very soon.

It's quite the division that's going on in the modding community and it's part of Bethesda's play. The Bethesda.net workshop divides the modding community, not only that, the Bethesda.net workshop has internal division as well with console gamers and PC gamers trying to one up eachother by releasing mods for only either PC or console. Also, the release of Skyrim Special edition will only split the modding community even further with a large amount of mods not being ported over. This massive layered division in the modding community will only pave the way for paid mods to be implemented to the Bethesda.net workshop. Especially with Bethesda using their own medium and isolating it's community from the bulk of the nexus and other modding platforms.

As per usual, I encourage group members to stay aware and inform others so that we can be prepared in case paid mods return and to invite others to the group so we will be ready to spring and not have to gather up forces if paid mods ever return.
