Granted, the site was never the fastest but in the recent days it really slowed down and was barely usable. So I was trying to figure the reason out and noticed a really big influx of newly added profiles. Why? I have no idea, but just to give you a number:

At the beginning of this year we tracked ~657k profiles. At the end of January we counted ~718k profiles. After two more weeks the number climbed up to ~822k! More than 100,000 profiles have been added in under two weeks! That's kinda insane compared to the usual growth.

We're currently at ~837k profiles, that means 180,000 new profiles in this year only. To put it in another perspective: It took from August 2019 to 2022 to grow for the same number of new profiles.

ANYWAY, I had to do something, so I sat down and implemented a persistent cache for best achievements of each profile. This was the bottleneck and had to be solved. Et voilà, it is now active and speeds up the overview, global rankings and friend rankings! Consider this as an early anniversary gift! Go try it out!!
