If you're not familiar with how to join a private lobby, simply hit the play button at the top of your screen inside the game then on the left hand side there will be an option in the menu "Find a lobby". From there, change the lobby type to private lobby and enter the password and join the game that pops up.

To join the in game chat channel hit the "+" button located above the chat interface and type in "UoGDota2".
