Can't login to Destiny Companion App using new Steam app

I can't approve my login for the Destiny 2 companion app via the new Steam app on iOS.

When I launch the Destiny 2 app, I have to reconnect my Steam account. It then takes me to a page where I select my platform, and I tap the Steam icon. From there, it automatically launches the Steam app, and it goes to a blank Community page and nothing happens. When I go back to the Destiny 2 app and click Steam again, it takes me back to the Steam app, and this time it loads the page asking me to use my Steam account with the Destiny 2 app, and I tap Sign In. Then it goes to the screen shown in the attachment, and no matter how many times I tap the Approve button, nothing happens.

These steps can be reproduced every single time on my iPhone 13 pro max running iOS 15.6.1

Sorry, there is no attachment. I just copy/pasted my Steam support message and forgot to edit it.

Same! Just keep clicking approve and nothing ever happens! I reinstalled destiny app so it’s a steam issue.

Hey! So I logged out when it populated my login asking if it was me. Then I manually logged in and it let me finally

Instructions unclear, almost locked myself out of my Steam account due to mobile guard potentially disappearing.

For real though, can you explain what you logged out of when it asked if it was you? Is this when you get prompted with your Steam account info, or when you try to approve your Bungie account? Thank you for trying to help by the way.

Sorry, let me try again. So when you are in the destiny app and you click sign in and it prompts you to choose xbox/steam/twitch/ect. When you click steam, it already has you signed in right? like just to confirm its you before you get to the approve screen? In that part where it is asking if that steam acocunt is you, if you can click sign out and make it prompt you to actually log in, it worked for me to push through the process.

When you click steam, it already has you signed in right? like just to confirm its you before you get to the approve screen? In that part where it is asking if that steam acocunt is you, if you can click sign out and make it prompt you to actually log in, it worked for me to push through the process.

Doesn't seem to work for me. After I click Steam in the Destiny app, it takes me into the steam app where I can click the green "Sign in" button, or click the other link to the right that says "Not you?" and sign in that way. It's difficult because I have to copy my steam guard code, and go through the whole process before the code expires, since there's no way to return to that screen when I get my code.

Unfortunately, I don't see any link that says "Sign out" but I assume the "Not you?" link is the one you're talking about. It doesn't let me push through the process by doing that. If I sign out of the Steam App, I'll get locked out because I can't access my code for the two-factor authentication. Do you have Steam Guard enabled on your account?

Even more interesting, I can go to the actual bungie.net website and login there. It also asks for your platform, and I click Steam, it launches the Steam app at the same confirmation screen with my account. I click the green "Sign in" button there, and I got to a page saying "You're signed in, continue to bungle.net", or something to that effect. I clicked the link and low and behold, I'm signed in on the website. The Destiny app is still broken though... still can't sign in, and it's almost certainly the Steam app's fault.

I do have 2FA and steam guard. which refuses to let me log out of the steam app, which is its own issue im annoyed with. thats so annoying it is not working for you. maybe if you keep trying the "not you" option it will eventually let you, unless steam decides to fix their app
