Bring back steam skins or at least add official ones
I know that many of you have used steam skins. But since this is no longer really possible and the whole thing was very complicated anyway, I wonder if it wouldn't make sense to just release official steam color schemes for steam. These could then be bought in the point store, such as the keyboards and start animations for the steam deck. What do you think about this, would it make sense to have different color schemes for the steam interface?

Same idea, actually I've never tried the skin on new UI so I have no much idea, but yea, probably. Also with cloud sync so that your skin can go with you everywhere. Also allow sideload from outside Steam but just no sync imo.

I completely agree with this.

Imho, the biggest issue with Steam having to enable this feature is that the current Steam User Interface (UI) has a Chromium based core and therefore they cannot tamper much with it without Google's consent that they can.
As I've pretty much always perceived it, from ever since the moment that Steam started using Chromium they've simply could manage to cost down upon costs by for example unemploying a or most dev' team(s) of their own and use what others develop, even if (clearly, imho) albeit quite potentially losing control of their own program. :steamfacepalm:

Atm, quite sadly for most users alas, I still perceive the current Steam's UI as "bloatware" and therefore I'll do my best to retain my using capabillity of the previous Steam's UI way over this bunch of ill written and maintained software.
And for a mere comparison instance, the current Steam UI still doesn't a have a fully reliable "Back button", which is a basic feature of pretty much Launcher/Game Store out there. :baa:

Edit add note: So, please consider what are our inputs really used for or if Valve's even worth investing your time's worthy suggestions into trying to improve something that they clearly refuse to listen to most constructive opinions tossed into their end? :winter2019tiredbulb:

Maybe you really are right. I have never seen that valve is interested in the suggestions from the community. At the end of the day, it's always just about money. Actually a pity but what the heck. There's nothing you can do about it anyway.

No matter how you look at it, Steam has to allow us to use our own Custom Skins...

Look at how Steam runs Profile Pages?

Most of the 70% of the Backgrounds don't even fit right on your Profile Pages,
98% of the Themes are bare bones boring, & don't offer anything unique...

Your Custom Avatars?

Are sooo Ugly no body uses them... Everyone uses their own Avatars...

Just make Steam Skins Customizable:

-- Colored Skins
-- Themed Skins

It doesn't matter, just let us have the choice to make on our own Clients again...

It would be a burdensome (though feasible) design process for the company's designers to figure out how to have a uniform appearance from the platform while providing enough flexibility to the players to allow more diversity.

Seems like a really worthwhile cause, though.

Skins were great, this current ui is completely soulless and ugly flat colors. Why do all current gen designers have a 10 year background in powerpoint presentations?
