Text and Chat Filtering review / suggestion
I heavily dislike the idea of having text & chat being censored by default.

The only suggestion I have it's to not have it censor by default cause not many people bother to check the Steam Labs. Even my brother was confused when his chat was showing censored words.

If people want to censor words or what ever good for them. But don't leave it by default, if people want to censor they should go and search for the feature and enable it.

I agree with this suggestion. I'd say to maybe show a popup in chat windows that such thing is available but make it off by default.

I don't use slurs in general but I think if people see it's all hearts people won't understand it's a filter and if there any word in the filter that is mistakenly in the list, most probably the person you are typing to won't understand and you won't notice as well because you have disabled by default.

This is an experiment. Of course they'll make it more apparent when it ships. Experiments are hidden for a reason.

I agree, if Steam allows us to save ages, 18+ users should have this setting disabled. This filter should also apply to Steam reviews also.

Steam interjects a statement the first time you encounter a filtered word in Steam chat. It lets you know what's going on, and provides a link to change your settings.

Okay, that's actually the perfect solution. I guess I have no more complaints.

Really like the way it's being implemented.

Please expand the off option to completely disable all forms of censorship Steam wide.

I would also love this.

This is good, I support this.

Now... About Play Next.
When we will see an update on it?

This, and make it clear if/when these filters are rolled out as a full feature to all users so they can turn it off.

My mates call me "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" IRL, have done for a decade, and I don't want to be sheep❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎ to all of them by default.

Also, RIP people called richard etc, god forbid anyone be called ♥♥♥♥.

I just logged in one day to see my username censored with no explanation immediately available and wondered who I'd annoyed enough to eat a report etc, so maybe also give a popup to users with usernames which get affected please.
