Steam Recording Clips Disappeared

Hi,

I noticed this morning that all of my Steam Recording Clips have vanished from my client. The background recorded footage is still there, including footage I created the clips from. I made several clips 10 hours ago, saved them to Steam and even shared the recording link with friends. They're now no longer available in the client.

Anyone else experienced this?

My settings are:
Record in background
1024 Minutes x 24Mbps
GPU encoding on
60fps max framerate
Record audio from Discord

I think I experienced something similar.

All my background recordings are missing in the client, but all the raw footage in the raw recordings folder is still there. I also noticed my "gamerecording.pb" file in the raw recordings folder was empty (0 KB, opened in a text editor to confirm it was empty).

My settings:
Record in background
9999 minutes x 24 Mbps
GPU encoding on
60fps max
No extra audio recording (no mic/apps)

Please I'm having the same problem, my clips disappeared. Is there any info on if and how to recover them?

Some good news - All my clips re-appeared today. I hope the same happens for you guys!

I wonder what the mechanism behind this is? Would be good to know what caused it.

Mine are gone too. I can create a recording, view it in media and then when I switch to desktop mode they disappear from the media section when I go back to steam deck client.

I found the .pb files in desktop mode, so my recordings are still there and are taking up space on my internal drive, but nothing shows on the steam deck media section whatsoever.

Happened to me too, I still have files (*.m4s and *.mpd) in recording folder
but in Recordings and Screenshots window they don't have them.

Restarting Steam brought mine back

Mine have gone again. Does "Save To Steam" actually persist these on my account or is it just a local copy?

Found a solution for this? When I go the desktop mode and check recordings through Steam directly, all recordings are there but not in Steam OS. I know they're there but I can't see them through Steam OS.

No solution so far. I love this feature but I'm saddened to see the clips aren't properly saved.

Please valve come up with a fix for this. I can see the files that were saved to steam but are written as document instead of mp4 or viewable image.

I found the issue(for me at least)! If you relocate the folder in steam settings to a new location(for example, my One drive was getting full so I moved it to save in a new folder), you must copy all clips on the old folder into the new save location for steam to recognize that location as writable and readable. The save location is the processing location. So just copy and paste you clips from your old destination to your new selected steam save location(in steam settings under game recording) and paste them there.

Don't think thsat is the issue, apart from not having done such a move some recordings reappared later. I think is the remote only saving of the clips not workign properly for a while. I think it got fixed since.

Mine all just disappeared and changing the folders and everything else isn't working. I updated i changed betas, yada yada.
