No audio in Team Fortress 2 when under 'Game Only Audio'

Title pretty much says it. The problem is pretty much identical to when I couldn't record audio of any games period, but now uniquely it's Team Fortress 2 that I'm having this issue with. I don't know if it's a particular setting in game or if I'm just cursed but unless i'm under 'all system audio' then no audio is recorded for that game.

It feels like this system was perfect when it was in its infancy and now I have nothing but issues since it launched.

nope, I just record with obs if I feel the urge to play it
