Game Recording: "Save last X seconds as clip"

Hi, really digging the new recording feature and hope to use it a lot in the future.

The current software I am using has the feature that when I press the hotkey, it will save a clip of the last 30 seconds of gameplay.
The steam recording beta promises to have the same. There is a setting to set a hotkey to save the last 30 seconds as a clip. I set the hotkey to ALT+G and I hear a sound playing when I press it.

However, a clip is never created anywhere.
I can instead place markers and cut the videos later, but I would prefer to save the last 30 seconds.

Am I doing something wrong? Did anyone else have problems with that particular feature? I feel like this should work fine.

same is happening for me, it used to work as of acouple days ago but just stopped working lately for some unknown reason. seems like it places a marker or smthn now instead when it is supposed to just make a clip

My clip recording appears stuck at 10 seconds.

This happens with me on Linux only, notification beeps, but no toast and the clip isn't generated. Tested on Windows and, there, all three things happen.

It makes a separate entry in your "Screenshots and Recordings" tab which you can then view and export, It saves it as a clip. It would be nice imo if it just directly exported the video file when you hit the hotkey. I thought originally that was the point of it.

But it's also nice because you can keep the original and edit it if you want it to be a different length or maybe you're sharing it somewhere else that only has a 10mb limit and you need to export it smaller... You can directly share the clips via steam chat, too.

alt + key pad / also doesn't work for me, but only in overwatch. maybe because i alt tab a lot ? weird af, i had to connect my controller to get the clip
