Chat Audio Issues
1. We need an option to record a chat audio channel.

SteelSeries, like a lot of other headsets, use a separate audio channel for chat so the game/chat audio sliders can function. Even capturing all audio doesn't seem to grab the chat audio, so Discord audio doesn't get captured. I use GG Sonar which adds virtual audio devices, but I don't think that should matter.

2. Chat/Mic should have a separate volume slider when playing back recorded video.

One of my favorite features in GG is that chat/mic audio can be turned down or off separate from the game audio after the recording as long as they're on separate channels, i.e. the chat audio is output to a chat audio device rather than the default audio device. I imagine that's probably not as simple to add in as it sounds, but it would be really nice to have that feature in Steam.

I'm in the same boat, using SteelSeries GG's Sonar to split my audio across separate channels.

The Steam recording feature seems to only pick up audio from whichever audio output you have set as default (ie. wherever you game's audio is coming from). So even if you have 'Record Audio from...' set to All System Audio, it won't record audio from other outputs that aren't the default.

As a real-world example (my exact scenario), I have two separate audio outputs:

1. Chat channel - only Discord's output is set to use this channel
2. Game channel - everything else uses this (set as default output in Windows)

Discord's audio output is never recorded by Steam's game recording, since it's not on the Game channel. It'd be great if they could implement some sort of solution for this.

Did you guys manage to find a solution to this ? Or just gave up and use all in one channel?

Looking also for a solution
mine was working at first, and now the sound isn't recording at all. i don't see any settings that would have changed. now there's no voice and no game sounds recording, only video
You just can't I tried everything. You can use OBS to Private Stream to Youtube and have it on cloud(Take care of Copyright stuff). I literally got copyrighted for leaving Steam open on my screen for a private stream. I guess only option is to set Discord to Steelseries Gaming and have game and DC sound together.
