Feature request: Global/total background recording limit, not only per-game
Short version: As new background recording/timeline chunks get added, the oldest chunks should get cleaned up regardless of what game they were recorded on, rather than every game recording being individually managed. This could simply be a "Total saved recording length" global setting that one can set to unlimited for the current behavior.

It seems like the background recording concept is designed only thinking about players who stick to one or a couple games at a time. That is not the only use case for Steam players, though. Some of us play many different games possibly in fairly random assortments. For example, I play a lot of roguelites, shmups, fighting games, and other such arcade fare, so what I play in a week could be a dozen different games, and maybe entirely different games from last week.

So, when Steam background recording says it records the last two hours of your gaming, that sounds fine, but what it seems to actually mean is that every single game stores its own last two hours of video, which is completely crazy for my use case and basically defeats the whole point of having passive background recording.

I'm sure I'm not the only user who would like if there were the option for Steam recording to work the way I had expected this to work, where the background recording is a single, global window into the last two hours of gaming, regardless of games played, so you have only two hours total of background recording being stored unless you actively go to the timeline and make a clip.
