Impact of Steam Game Recording on Steam Deck battery life
I'm just wondering if there's been any videos or articles which have actually tested the impact of Game Recording on the Steam Deck's battery life.. or at the very least if people around here could give their general observations on how battery life is impacted while using it?

Thanks!

I don't feel like there's a big difference but a measurement comparison would be nice

At Rdr2 I'm currently playing on 30 fps, background recording forces me to increase the power limit from 7 to 9 to avoid a framedrop caused by the recording - this is the battery impact I can point, didn't measure actual minutes of play time then and now.

Cool. Thanks! I'll keep an eye out for any comparisons and post anything I find here.

I made a single game test, with Hogwarts legacy at 30 fps, and game recording limited to 30 fps too, my battery usage jumped from 12.1W to 13.3W so that's 1.2W, the GPU frequency jumped from ~950mhz to ~1000mhz. In comparison, toggling the wi-fi made a 0.2W impact. I'm on a deck oled with undervolting.
