It will record the mic while I push the steam push to talk button but not while I push the game push to talk button. (the game has 3 buttons for different radios so mapping the same button is not an option)
I understand why was done this way but this doesn't seem ideal or intuitive I thought those options only applied while talking with someone through the steam chat not in a game that has it's own voice configuration.
The solution has been to always enable the mic on since I don't use it on steam for anything else in my case but if you do this doesn't seem that ideal.
Under steam settings, go to "broadcast" on the left side. Near the bottom will be a toggle for "record my microphone."
