Not picking up microphone at all

Windows 11
Latest steam beta at the time of writing.

While I generally use Nvidia broadcast broadcast, even selecting my raw microphone doesn't make the recording pick up my microphone.

The microphone test works fine and it is picking up every other audio source, game and chosen applications.

on Linux Mint here, video and game audio are great, no mic at all and they both do work, just aren't recorded at all by steam

Same issue here. Recording is unclickable and set to all system audio but no microphone.

exactly this. my record setting is set to all system and is unchangeable

Well I figured it out on Windows 11 at least, it seems like the game recording isn't allowed access to the microphone unless the correct microphone is set in Window's settings as well.
So both Steam and Windows needs to have the same input microphone set.

This worked a treat on windows 10.

Same here, it record my friends on discord, myu game, but not my mic.

Also having same issue on Windows 11. doesn't seem to be recording my mic when I have it set to do so
