Works fine on the flatpak version (RTX 2080)
System:
GPU: Radeon 7900 XTX / mesa 24.2.2-1
Arch Linux / KDE Plasma on Wayland
Steam installed from the Arch repos
Have you had that issue, too, by the way? I find that my screenshot key doesn't work, whatever it's set to, when I'm running the beta version of Steam (with recording and whatnot). Ctrl+F12 to add a marker still works, so I was using that as a substitute, but I do like having normal screenshots back.
My user account, though, still has the problem, even though this feature is now out of beta. I can't take screenshots anymore unless I disable background recording. I have this problem on KDE X11 and Wayland, so I figure it must have something to do with other applications I run or my keybind settings.
I recommend to export as :
- 60 fps
- Full Quality
- Default Encoding
For 18m56s of gameplay it took like 30minutes and above to export as a 1.9G file (1930188)
Video is okay and working outside steam
Audio aswell
I still can do Screenshots and other things while steam record in background the game but sometimes the background record just crash for no real reason after many hangs from the cpu because I was using like 20 apps (r2modman, cider, and many other chromium based apps) and won't turning back on manually or mid games.
I install 2 different version of steam, using the .deb file and using the steam-devices files (another .deb files but from Debian 11)
I doesn't try on flatpak version since Flatpak doesn't really work on my side (by my fault, because Flatpak refuses to install some kind of NVIDIA packages)
Here is my system info if you need them :
