VR Game recording?

Pretty much what the title says, looks like is doesn't work for VR games. Would love if it could be made to record the game window

It does work in VR for me, but the perspective seems way off. I didn't verify that this is what things looked like on my monitor, but as-is it's pretty unusable compared to what gets presented in the VR view when captured with OBS.

Do you have a controller key bind to set a pin or did you just go back and manually scrub the captured video?

Do you have a controller key bind to set a pin or did you just go back and manually scrub the captured video?

I just went back after the fact - in the Library for each game, with the background recording on, it'll show recent recordings for that game. You can click there and open the editor and create a clip.

This was recorded with a Quest 3 over Air Link.

I did see today that another session didn't have any recordings; in that case, I had launched Steam VR first and then the game. For the successful video above, I had just launched the game directly from the Rift dashboard.

What you can't see is that I have actually also a floating window with a movie playing to my right and Google Chrome attached to my left controller while I'm lying in bed with my Pico 4 connected via Virtual Desktop to my PC in the other room over WiFi.
And it works great!
But you have to fiddle a bit, Steam Link in particular seems to mess up the recording...

I use an Index so I wonder if that has something to do with ir or like yaps suggested, maybe its of you start steam VR first instead of just the game. I'll do some messing around, thanks!

If you start Steam VR first, it starts to record Steam VR but not the game you then start IN Steam VR. It worked best, when I managed to start the game (and it's recording) first.
The feature is still very wonky as of now, especially with VR and result vary per game.
But i am still pretty blown away by how easy it is to set up and use.

Same I hope they fix it. I'm playing on the Quest 2 via Steam Link only, and it's launching Steam VR automatically, so I don't get my games recordings... I tried disabling recording for Steam VR specifically but it still does not record my games launched trough Steam VR...
