No recording available

[Kakaova]

It just doesn't work for me.
I've turned the beta on and off several times. Made sure Steam is running as an Administrator. I've checked several games both in "record in background" and "record on demand" options on.
I've changed quality, raw recordings save folder, length of the video - everything I can change I did. It keeps showing me a black screen with "No recording available - read the FAQ etc.". The recordings folder is <1 kB. I have over 500 GB of free space on the disk and with current length x quality settings I need only about 10 GB.

No. I even have the AMD Adrenalin Edition background recording set to OFF.
I also turned on and off any additional AMD settings like "chill mode", "super resolution", "fluid motion frames" etc. - didn't help with Steam recording either way.
The sequence of what happened and what you observed
I turn on the game, turn on the overlay, want to see if I can view the recording preview - "No Recording Available" and black screen each and every time. The time of the recording keeps moving forward, but there's nothing being recorded.

Same, I don't have a solution, but hopefully they fix this.

I found a fix in another thread. You need to have Broadcasting disabled in Steam options. Once I've done this recording started working.

I was going to disable Broadcasting as per your suggestions, but the Broadcasting tab has nothing but an error message reading something like "Broadcasting isn't available for this OS." I have a Mac, Sequoia 15.0.1. I've looked through all the settings, but am at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :-(

Nothing is working but was a day ago. Broadcasting is disabled and has been for a year, any other ideas?

Edit: everything is working again… maybe it had something to do with the folder I had selected? Unfortunately not much further input I can provide.

The broadcasting fix didn't work for me either. I changed the location the videos are saved, and that fixed it for me.

for me it seems after awhile of recording over half if not half gets corrupted and cant see it anymore i got a 20 min video but only get to see and use 3m of it -_-

I believe Record in Background settings also apply to Record Manually.

Whenever I recorded manually, it only keeps the last two hours (120 minutes is the default global setting in Record in Background).

This shouldn't happen if you ask me, because this isn't stated anywhere. I have raised the minutes in Record in Background arbitrarily (to 720 minutes/12h) and will try to record manually more than two hours and see if it works.

If it does, it's either not stated in the UI or is a bug. I don't think Record in Background settings should apply to Record Manually.

Edit: Tried, and can confirm. Record in Background settings apply to Record Manually mode.

I stopped broadcasting and changed folders, but I can't record. "Recording has been stopped due to an error" will appear immediately.

I tried to test and record 3 minutes of my game. The on noise and off noise happened, but when I went to look for the file, it wasn't there.

I tried turning off broadcasting. Did not work. And i tried to change my record folder. Tried different games. Tried using other settings. Doesn't work. But the manual recording works. But i need the background recording. And when i try to use it it says in the steam game overlay "not recording" and i dont know how to make it turn on.
It used to work, for a few times. But now it doesnt work at all now anymore. And i have 250gb of free space

As for me, I noticed that Clips show as "record not available" whenever I tab out of the game during that clip. So let's say I switch to Discord within the 45 seconds of my clip duration, the whole clip won't be playable even if I was on Discord for just a second, or any other tab which is not the game itself.

Also, when I create a link of the same clip that wouldn't play, and send it to a friend, the video will play in that linked file. And when I export the video on my drive, I can watch the video, too. But only within the Clip gallery, it won't play whenever I tabbed out during the clip.

Any idea how to fix this, or is it not possible at the moment?

For me dota2 would record, but HL2 would not. disable broadcast did not fix; turning off HVEC worked

I always have Broadcasting disabled. Never enable it anyway but still encountering "Recording has been stopped due to an error" after few minutes of recording. This is so frustrating!
