This editor is pretty powerful, but it's basic features aren't as streamlined as consoles. Granted, there's Steam chords, but I'd like to use the share button on a modern controller like it's supposed to be used rather than as a glorified select button. I guess for older controllers, the Steam Deck, and the Steam Controller, chords are fine as they lack the button, but for newer controllers, I would greatly appreciate the option to keep the share button for that.
An option for a higher bitrate and resolution would be great as well.
Thanks for the new feature!
Also, what happened to the “open containing directory in whatever file manager you happen to be using” option?
First of all, Im on windows 10, using a nvidia RTX 3070 Ti on driver version 555.99. I recorded 2 games, Cookie Clicker and Cyberpunk 2077.
Onto my actual thoughts on the feature. First of all, for some reason, it would just not record my mic, I went into steam voice chat settings and the correct microphone was selected, and a mic test from that screen worked, so I don't know why the steam record thingie wasn't capturing it.
Secondly, I think it would be good to be able to set certain games to not automatically record in the background. I noticed that it can only record one game at a time, and you have to manually switch it if its already rolling on another game, but for some games that are often running at all times (like cookie clicker) Not only did i have to manually swap the recording to cyberpunk, but when I closed it, it automatically went back to cookie clicker. It would be nice to be able to set it up so that it automatically excludes specified games, so I don't have to manually switch over every time I start playing something else. Just an idea, Really cool feature and i hope the rest of its development goes well.
