Friends List is annoying

I don't want the Friends List to open whenever I open Steam.

Even though I have "Sign in to Friends when Steam starts" disabled it still opens the friends list in a new window. There's no option in the Interface menu to disable it from opening the Friends List when Steam is launched.

Opening two separate windows when you launch a program is annoying.

-nofriendsui worked for me for a couple of hours, but now the friends list shows up again every time steam gets started.

Wow, I just saw the news they released it to the main channel even though Friends & Chat is still broken
For me it's even worse, at a point I accidentally maximized the Friends window and now it always opens maximized, even if I restore it before closing!

Edit: I just switched to the main build and guess what? The Friends window opens when starting and maximixed! :(

I don't know how this made it into the stable client.

Clearly it wasn't ready.

"-nochatui -nofriendsui -silent" is not working reliably.

Yep, the friends list opening each time is terrible. It's what made me search the discussions to begin with.

Luckily reverting back to the old ui with "-vgui" fixed that problem, at least for now.

It also made me realize how much cleaner the old ui looks.
