steam voice chat i can hear one of my friend but not the other, both of them can hear me and can hear themselfs

i join voice chat group to talk with my friends, i can hear one of them but the other not, but he can be heared to the 3rd guy, both of them can hear me and i can hear the 3rd guy
so all fine but i can't hear second guy, i tried resetting steam and my pc, tried to reconfigure my input and output sound device, i tried some online sheinanigans .
this is 3rd time it happen not to me only but to my friends , sometimes it's fixed by reintering the voice chat, unplugging and replugging headphones multiple times but in programming this makes no sense, maybe we all have discord on our devices so it may be interfering but it doesn't make sense

if discord is problem then why can i hear 1 person and not the other?

not really, sometimes i reconnect or they reconnect and it gets fixed sometimes it doesn't work, there has been 2 times where i rebooted my laptop and it fixed but majorly it doesn't fix it, i tried all online soltuions for sound problems but they are not really related and didn't help anyway


so yeah your best bet is to make the guy you can't hear but he/she can hear others disconnect and reconnect miltiple times, only 1 do this move if you both do it it doesn't get fixed most of times

I fixed this by reinstalling steam. But it’s only temporary fix, because next day I got the same issue.

And yes, another reinstall helped again.

Hope Valve will fix this in the future updates.

I have to warn you if you decide to try to reinstall. Steam is also deleting all the games installed in the same place where it is. So make backups first or transfer games to another drive
