When testing the device inputs under the beta's big picture controller settings it doesn't light up for the guide button on the Xbox Elite Controller, but it used to. It still does light up for the Dualshock 4.
On %th January 2023 Valve announced official support had been to Steam Input for Thrustmaster eSwap X Pro controller.

Which gave a working share button and only oldbigpicture game configurator showed this graphically.

The next Steam beta client update broke it and now many more gen 3 xbox one controller users are reporting same issue.
This is how broken Steam Input is and it is ALL because of newbigpicture being far to Deck centric. newbigpicture is not fit for purpose and shoiuld be called DeckUI
My point is dont get to excited w2hen a fix is provided as we are almost certain to see bug regression very soon after.
Frustratingly we shouldnt even need to spend rtime making bug reports or discussions about these type of issues if Define Layout ui was not so broken and if it supported switching layouts through changing controller type from list of supported controller types we could easily fix this type of issue ourselves. Which i have done over the years.
Steam Input has always been querky but the Define Layouit ui used to fix a myriad of scenarios where Steam Input just needed to be told controller layout and then save that layout as any supported controller type. But its fubar now too.
Valve had completely removed this at one point and brought it back (after being requested to do so) broken and have just left it broken.
A workaround for getting Guide button working again is to edit the always on section of global chord button shortcut config so that shift + tab action is mapped there.
