OG steam controller dual stage triggers cant be used anymore?
OK so as title, i have the OG steam controller that came out in 2016. This controller has dual stage triggers where it has the normal analog range, and then it has actual separate buttons in addition, when you pull the triggers down enough to feel them click. Another example of a controller that had this is the gamecube controller.

I know the dual stage buttons in these triggers used to be programmable via steam input in the past, because i did so to make them act like the gamecube triggers for Dolphin emulator. But these days i cannot see how the new steam input addresses the trigger buttons anymore? It can emulate a dual stage trigger via the 'soft pull' and 'full pull' options for normal triggers, but i cant see any way for it to address actual hardware dual stage triggers such as in the steam controller anymore. Am i missing something? or can steam input really not handle this anymore?

If the latter is true, id like to request support for the steam controller dual stage trigger buttons be added to the new input configurator, please. Its a shame to leave it out, programmable trigger tactile buttons are incredibly useful.

Full Pull is the button on the Steam Controller and if you wanted a digital action to happen at the end of the analog range you'd add it to the Soft Pull input and then set the activation to Soft Pull then adjust the threshold where you want it. This all seems to be working in the current stable client

I can verify that this is the case using the OG Controller for most of my gaming when I'm not tethered to a Kb/M setup. Any analog actions I use the Soft Pull otherwise will stick with Full Pull for digital. I have gotten creative with some configs to get basically the best of both worlds without any compromises but it varies from game to game.

Thanks for the reply, ive confirmed that full pull is indeed controlling the digital button at the end of trigger range after all and its all good now.
I guess while a valve employee is here, ill take 10 seconds to register my wish that the steam deck 2 and/or the rumoured steam controller 2 includes dual stage triggers....i know Input is emulating dual stage triggers on normal triggers via soft/full pull, but imo you cant beat the tactility of a real button. The exception might be if HD haptics were built into the triggers themselves....
Cheers.
