If games need PS controller support to run properly, override controller settings on a per-game basis.
Some games that support PS4 controllers can have issues with PS5 controllers as well.
You should tell the developer of the game.
For the game to display Playstation buttons glyphs, there are only 3 ways:
- Use Steam Input API
- Support the controllers natively (in this case, disable Steam Input)
- Provide a setting in the game where the button prompts are changed to the PS glyphs regardless of controller
All of these has to be done by the developers, there is nothing Valve can do.
Valve made the bridge. They can't force anyone to take it.
There is nothing to say. Some of these games are incredibly old so an update or new provision for PS4/5 controllers isn't likely. I think you've misunderstood my post as I've mentioned all of these "fixes" before.
If you play the same games on Steam as on Game Pass and disable Steam Input while playing connected over USB, you will see the correct button prompts there as well. This will, however, limit you to games that actually have native support for those controllers and not every game does.
