No that will force your PS5 controller to mimic an Xbox controller, hence also Xbox button prompts.
But I don't see that and it is quite infuriating. Maybe it isn't an inconvenience to other, but to me the extra bit of time it takes to go, "nope, that's the wrong "X"" is frustrating.
To clarify, there is no way to get ps5 controller prompts ingame (not counting mods), the Xbox API is used so, you'll always see Xbox button prompts. Either opt. to use a DS4 controller or wait for the API to be implemented.
the short version is that DualSense Controller support is very rare right now and newer games (such as Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition, DEATHLOOP, F1 2021, Genshin Impact and soon, God of War (2018 video game) will have to support it via Sony's Gamepad API (despite what @HazPhas says), which allows to take full advantage of the Controller's more advanced capabilities.
Thankfully, there are some cases where previous DualShock 4 supported games may retroactively supports DualSense Controllers (either thru Steam Input API or Native DS4 Mode), but it can either work perfectly (and shows PS4 Glyphs), shows Xbox prompts, the binding is borked (like in Deltarune) or only shows generic prompts (like in Quake KEX port).
Basically; it's similar to how DualShock 4 Controller support was handled in newer PC Games after 2016.
If you know a game that natively supports DualSense controller, you should turn off any form of Input Mappers (including Steam), plug it via USB and the game should show the correct button prompts.
Try disabling Steam Input (not disabling support for a controller type, just disable Steam input for that game entirely), I did that on Fall Guys and it actually showed Playstation Buttons for my DS4!
How does someone go about doing this?
Go to the game's properties > Controller > Steam Input Disabled

although this will only work if the game has native dualshock 5/4 support, which many games do not.
