How do you save the recorded clip to your local machine without black screen?
So I have tried recording some game videos of approximately 3-10min. When I try to export the steam recording to MP4, it shows a black screen on the video player, only audio makes it to the file. Basically I can only see it on steam client but can't export the video.

Been using it since my Game Bar icon is greyed out for some reason.

Did you ever find a fix for this? This is my exact issue right now, but nobody else is talking about it. Files will export to my pc as audio only. Only way I can export video is if i save it to less than a minute and send it to my phone. help!

Not yet. Anyways I am only using it because my Xbox game bar isn't recording videos.

Over a month later, but I'll respond here since this thread is showing up on the first page of Google so other people looking for an answer will likely find it.

The reason that I found this was happening is because Steam is exporting the video under the default H.265 (HVEC) codec, which default video players do not support as of Windows 11 (Microsoft is trying to scam you into paying for the codec extension for it). If you go to Custom when you're exporting and change the codec to H.264 (I believe you can set this as the default under settings too), that allows it to be playable by default video players. Alternatively, download a player like VLC that can support a broader range of codecs inherently.
