Screenshot delay problem

Whenever I take a screenshot in the game, there is always a delay of three seconds before the picture can be intercepted, originally it was a direct press to start the screenshot, and now I do not know why the F12 screenshot in the game will delay 3 to 4 seconds before the screenshot will start, but the in-game screen is smooth and will not LAG.

I'm noticed this mostly after I added in a keybind shortcut for my Geforce Overlay for getting clips to the same keybind (on my steam controller I mean) and chalked it up to that but then it was inconsistently doing this long after several updates no consistently doing it recently

I have the same problem, i thought it was a bug in the game so i reinstalled it and nothing happened... i started noticing this since yesterday i'm glad to know i'm not the only one with this issue

I thought it was a bug or maybe my laptop was lagging, i feel delay since yesterday, before that everything was fine.

Same. My first thought was that this was a problem on my end and I had too many screenshots again, so I decided to delete them en masse from my PC. It turned out that this deletion was in vain and this is a problem on Steam’s side. Yesterday there were no discussions about this, so I didn’t think that this is a problem on the side of Steam itself.

Just googled about this issue because it started a few days ago and never had it before. "Glad" to see it looks like there's something going on with Steam and not my system.

Check if you're saving to 'uncompressed' AVIF and untick that so you get pngs.
Either way you should have jpg screenshots instantly generated even if the lossless version lags behind.

Same here. In the non-beta steam as well.
Massive delay till the screenshot thumbnail pops up and the screenshot sound plays. Also impossible to take multiple screenshots in quick succession like used to be possible. Only seem to be able to take one screenshot every 5 seconds or so.

I've got Steam set to jpg screenshots only. No uncompressed version option ticked.

The whole screenshot system in Steam seems to be a disaster area now. Screenshot manager is also terrible, crashes steam sometimes, and super laggy compared to the instant response the old version had.

mmmmm I thought that this issue, just started, was at my end. Guess not.

I'm not using any beta client, but still a three seconds or so delay when taking a screenshot, where there was zero before.
