Hide private games from personal recent activity

I was hoping that with the opption to mark games as private it will remove them from recent activity, but it only seems to work for other people visiting your profile, if you browse your own profile you still can see the activity from the private games.

I want to hide some software programs because every time I play in VR, my recent activity it's eclipsed because of SteamVR program and other two I use, so I want to be able to hide those apps from my recently played view also.

EDIT: Other solution will be to not show the hidden games from library (old option) in the recently played tab, if you have a game hidden in your own library, it's better to not show it in recently played

I agree, this is needed to make games work as truly private. The current implementation should not be showing private games on personal activity feeds, nor should they show up as 'in library' for family sharing accounts.

It realy needed because if show my profile from my devices (eg for guest in my home) I don't want to other see them.

You got the mark as private option now this is an year old problem that already got solved-ish.
Honestly, only thing missing is it not showing you playing the game at the moment workaround at the moment is change your friend status to invisible.

I have game that marked as private and hidden in library, but when I open my profile in Steam I see it in last played section.

You always see it yourself.

Buy I don't want to see it there. Because I can have a guest at my home and I can show him my Steam profile from my computer. And I don't want him to see my private games.

You want to use the Hide function in conjunction with Private games.

if u dont want other people to see ur games u play then u put ur account to private

Game with both private and hidden flags still appear in my profile if I look it. I do not want make whole profile private.

K. I read this entire thread all wrong. My bad.

Hiding games will only hide it from you in your library, not your profile.

Marking them Private will only hide them from other people looking at your profile.

There is no way to hide the game activity from yourself.
